Before it’s too late….

The present is a gift. Life is a gift. Love is a gift. We take so many things and important moments for granted. So many things have happened this week that have made me think about the fact, the simple fact, that we do not know how much time we have left on this earth.

The pain I saw on my friend’s face and her family’s is something that will stay with me forever on the day she laid her brother to rest. I started to think of how incredibly blessed we are every single day we wake up and are given another day of life…..and every night we go to bed we were blessed with a full day of special moments.

When you hold your child’s hand- smile & hold on for as long as you can, when you call your parents to see how they are doing- talk to them for as long as you can & never forget to remind them of how much you love them. When you are laughing with your friends- laugh more than you gossip. When you are with your boyfriend kiss him as often as possible & guys- hug your girlfriends tight and tell them how happy they make you (we really like that!)

Some of us wait…..for “the right time” or we are afraid to say something for fear of rejection. Dont live in fear. Some of us have so much hate- Don’t spend time being angry at anyone. Some of us spend too much time complaining- Spend every moment of your day as joyful as possible. Some hold grudges- forgive because God forgives you. Be forgiving.

If you miss someone and you can tell them- tell them! If you love someone- tell them! Overuse “I love you.” If you can hug & hold someone you love- why don’t you?! It’s so frustrating and I just can’t understand why people spend a majority of their time fighting or upset rather than spend that time in peace.

Until it’s too late……until we dont have them anymore do we miss their smile, we miss their hugs, we miss the way they pulled over to the side of the road during rush hour – all because you asked for a kiss! When it’s too late we realize how much we miss our grandparents smile & warm hugs.

Love….just as much as life should never be taken for granted. It’s cliche but there truly is someone out there who is praying for exactly what you have.

“Three things remain- faith, hope, love but the greatest of these is love.” – 1 Corinthians 13:13

Be faithful and hopeful in times of trouble and darkness and remember that the love from our Father is what gives us strength to carry on.

I write this blog tonight with loving memory to my grandparents resting in heaven and to Rolando (Roly) Gonzalez- May you be in the beautiful presence of The Lord.

Faithfully,
Lupe
